The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is undertaking a multi-year review of the Seeds Regulations. KAP has been part of this review process and sat as a member on the seed regulatory modernization working group.

The Seeds Acts and its regulation protect the interests of both consumers and producers while ensuring high quality seed remains available.

KAP provided comments on two occasions to the CFIA regarding the seed consultation: May 2023 and April 2024.

Draft amendments to the Seeds Regulations are expected to be published in the Canada Gazette in 2025.
