The Department of Environment and Climate unveiled their water management strategy framework in November 2022. The framework outlined the goals of the department regarding water management.

A few months later the department sought feedback from stakeholders in developing a water action plan. The goal of the action plan is to outline the steps needed to achieve the goals of the water management strategy.

Available and accessible water is key for farming in Manitoba. The occurrence of extreme weather events such as droughts and floods highlight the importance of fostering an adaptable and resilient agriculture sector.

KAP provided ten recommendations to the department regarding the water action plan.

The Department of Environment and Climate released its water strategy action plan. KAP was present at the water strategy action plan news conference and provided our support for the plan.
