In 2024, the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) announced changes to the Pest Control Products Fees and Charges Regulations. The proposed changes would increase the annual charge for registrants of a chemical product in Canada.

KAP, along with many other agricultural groups in Canada, raised concerns about the proposed fee increase. Farmers already pay considerable money for pesticides and the proposed higher fees would increases their costs. And the proposed changes would also affect competitiveness and innovation for pesticide companies.
