Every five years, the Safe Food for Canadians Act undergoes a review to assess the effectiveness of the legislation. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency administers the Act, which deals with the inspecting, labelling, advertising, importing, exporting, and licensing of food commodities.
KAP provided comments to the CFIA and recommended the use of regulatory sandboxes. Allowing for regulatory sandboxes would enable stakeholders to apply innovative ideas that could benefit the agriculture sector.
